This is refreshing to read and hear about a group that is asking these questions about online learning. It is right in line with the focus I’d like our current LMS evaluation process to take, as we are currently comparing tools, etc., which to my thinking are similar to comparing the mechanics of the systems rather than what they can offer the learning experience leveraging today’s collaborative technologies. I’m interested in seeing or hearing about how other colleges have used more social learning oriented pedagogical approaches in designing their online courses differently than what we are limited with in tools such as Moodle, eCollege and Blackboard.
