[excerpt]: "LRMI helps set the stage for the hive mind that will help our children's children learn faster and better than we ever thought possible," Angell says. "In comparison, school today will look like drawing pictures in the dirt with a stick."
After a very long week full of Webvisions goodness we settled into our cozy little studio with an old friend of the show, Nate Angell. As always he was bursting with excitement for the projects he’s working on. We managed to tackle three of them in the Tech Edition: hideNtweet, a reevaluation of the standardized testing system in our schools and DayOn.
Friday night we welcomed, for a third time, Nate Angell, and for the first time Randy Thornton of rSmart to talk about the Open Education movement and Open Source. Join us for an entertaining hour of open ranting, martinis and even a little movie talk.
And no. They didn’t convince me to see Avatar.
The Rhode Island Network for Educational Technology (RINET), in association with the Sakai Foundation, is hosting the second annual Rhode Island Sakai Conference March 31 - April 1, 2009 at the Providence Biltmore Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
A day-long, interactive session to craft a Sakai/OSP implementation plan tailored to your institution's characteristics, resources and needs. Each university considering Sakai and/or OSP is distinctive, but to ensure implementation success, each should prepare for issues common to any technology change, and a few issues unique to open/community source applications. Session leaders will help participants begin to develop a detailed implementation plan for their campus.
With co-presenter, Wende Morgaine.
